The Andrew Johnson National Historic Site, operated by the National Park Service, is open each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Individual locations include the Tailor Shop and Visitor center, Early Home, Birthplace Replica, Homestead, and National Cemetery, all located in or very near to our Downtown.
The Greene County Courthouse square contains several war monuments and historic markers at the corner of Main and Depot streets.
The Dickson-Williams Mansion at the corner of Church and Irish streets is a stop on the Civil War Trail and the Walk With The President tour.
The Nathanael Greene Museum at the corner of Main and McKee streets contains a large collection of Greeneville and Greene County artifacts. Located across McKee Street is the City Garage Car Museum, which contains a diverse collection of vehicles of different eras and styles.
Our downtown area features more than 20 restaurants and a variety of retail businesses.
Stay at the historic General Morgan Inn, and catch a show at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center, both located Downtown.
Within driving distance of our town are the David Crockett Birthplace State Park in Limestone, the Appalachian Trail, and a number of golf courses and public parks.
