Mission Statement
The mission of the Greeneville Fire Department is to provide high quality customer service by saving lives and conserving property through prevention, preparation, response, and mitigation.

The Greeneville Fire Department is a full-service emergency response agency providing rapid, caring, and quality response to the citizens and visitors of Greeneville. We provide the following emergency response services: fire suppression, emergency medical, hazardous materials mitigation, and rescue. We also provide the following non-emergency services: child safety seat installation, smoke alarm installation, public fire education, fire inspections, code enforcement, fire cause determination and investigation, special event stand-by, pre-incident and preparedness planning, fire extinguisher training, and CPR training.

The Greeneville Fire Department has earned an Insurance Service Office (ISO) Classification of 2 utilizing four strategically located fire stations and the operation of two engine companies and two quint ladder companies. The department has 44 full time employees including the Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, Administrative Chief, Fire Marshal, three Shift Commanders (BCs), 3 Station Superintendent/Company Officers (Captains), nine Company Officers (Lieutenants), and twenty-four firefighters. Five personnel are Paramedics and the other members are Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians. Several members are trained by TEMA to the advanced level of hazardous materials specialists with the rest of the department as technicians.

All services are provided within the corporate limits of Greeneville, limited fire protection contracts are available to citizens within 4 miles of the corporate limits, and hazardous materials mitigation is provided throughout Greene County.
