This new apparatus will give the Greeneville Fire Department (GFD) the ability to provide fire suppression and rescue operations to some of Greeneville’s most high hazard locations.
On January 22nd, a brand new Sutphen SPH 100 Aerial Platform Ladder Truck was delivered to the Greeneville Fire Department from Dublin, Ohio. This truck was ordered in late 2021 but with supply chain issues and overall demand for fire apparatus it was just completed.
Greeneville Fire Department members spent this week conducting training on the new 100' "Tower 3" with company personnel to become familiar with its features. GFD equipment committee will begin organizing and mounting equipment this week. The new ladder is expected to go in-service by late February.
The ladder can extend up to 100' for firefighting and rescue operations. The new addition gives the department the ability to reach further than ever before to deliver more services and options to the citizens.
Below are a few of the features of the new apparatus:
- Platform gives multiple rescue options
- Non-ambulatory patients can be rescued and lowered to the ground
- 2,000 gallon per minute pump
- Dual aerial master streams
- Four-Door, Four-Person Cab
- Nearly 300 cu ft equipment storage
