Marty Shelton was recognized for over 35 years of dedicated service to the Greeneville Fire Department at last night's Greeneville City Council meeting. He leaves a legacy through his leadership as Administrative Chief and training supervisor. Congratulations on your retirement! Enjoy your free time! 😉 We know this is just wishful thinking, since he is continuing as Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department's Chief.


Congratulations to the first joint Advanced EMT class conducted by the Greeneville Fire Department and Greene County EMS! We are proud to announce that all participants successfully passed the hands-on practical exam.
The course consisted of 192 hours of classroom instruction, supplemented by an additional 96 hours of clinical training. These dedicated providers will undoubtedly be valuable assets to their respective departments.


On Tuesday, October 29th, the Greeneville Fire Department proudly celebrated the graduation of six new firefighters from the NTRFTA Regional Training Academy! These dedicated individuals have completed around 400 hours of rigorous training over the past 12 weeks and are eager to begin their journey with us.

The Town of Greeneville Fire Department will be accepting applications from October 28th to November 15th, 2024 at 5 PM. The Physical Agility Test will be on November 16th, 2024. Applicants will be contacted to schedule a time for testing. The Fire Department will now be conducting testing on an annual basis.
Greeneville Fire/Rescue is a full hazard department responding to fire, rescue, haz-mat, and medical emergencies. The GFD has 49 members with 4 fire stations throughout the town.
Starting salary range is from $47,326.86 - $52,674.96 depending upon experience, certifications, and licensure.

Our deepest condolences to Greene County Central Dispatch and the family of Chassity Marshall during this incredibly difficult time. Chassity's dedication and service will be remembered and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Our thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones and colleagues as they navigate this profound loss.


Week 3 of the NTRFTA finished off strong at the Kingsport Training Center for the 100ft aerial climb, along with multiple other ladder and SCBA skills. The entire class endured temperatures in the mid 90's and powered through to completion. Next week starts HazMat Awareness and Operations.











Week 3 of the NTRFTA is off to a warm start with temps in the mid 90"s. Thanks to the Morristown Fire Department for hosting classroom and skill days for hose handling and water supply for the recruits.
Up next are Ladders in Elizabethton and Kingsport for the remainder of the week.









Week 2 of the Northeast Tennessee Regional Fire Training Academy has Began !








The Miss Fire Prevention Pageant with categories for all ages will be September 8, 2024 at Chuckey-Doak High School. 🔥👑

The Greeneville FD has spent this week going over aircraft emergencies, airport familiarization tours, runway marking systems, and more. Angela Alley and her staff at the airport, along with the Highlands-II base crews, especially the pilot (Jennifer), spent the week showing the different types of general aviation and the helicopter to the shifts. Battery disconnects, fuel shutoffs, access panels, fuel farm specifics are just a few of the topics covered to be better prepared.

For the next 3 days, Greeneville Fire Fighters will be providing medical standby for the NAIA Beach Volleyball Invitational.




Greeneville Fire Department crews spent March 19,20, and 21 training on water supply drills with multiple connections on fire hydrants and different ways to get water from static sources like creeks, ponds, etc.
