Building/Planning/Development Department
The Town of Greeneville is seeking a FT Planning Administrator to join our Building/Zoning/Planning team. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, hands-on individual with a strong knowledge of all phases of Planning. This person will review and evaluate various types of land use applications, project designs, plans and technical documents for compliance with Town standards and regulatory requirements. They will assist in developing and implementing comprehensive land use plan and updating the Town's zoning and subdivision regulations, as well as make presentations/recommendations to the Planning Commission and City Council. Additional duties include ensuring compliance with the Town's MS4 permit, stormwater presentations, public education, and responsible for stormwater maintenance agreements. This person will need to be proficient in Microsoft and GIS. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in urban planning, engineering, or related is required; advanced degree desired. Five years’ experience in municipal planning and AICP certification is preferred. Salary DOE.

Police Department
The Town of Greeneville is currently seeking a FT Parking Attendant. This position is responsible for the monitoring of parking spaces and parking lot areas in the downtown Greeneville area as well as in other areas that are deemed necessary. It is the responsibility of the parking attendant to record and fine those individuals committing parking infractions. Additional responsibilities of this position are the processing of paperwork involving recording parking fines, fee collection for the fines, computer data entry, as well as possible court appearances for these fines. The person in this position is also responsible for safety issues regarding parking around the city, designing parking areas in the city, leasing out parking slots in the downtown area and collection of fees regarding leased spots.
A High School diploma/GED is required for this position, as well as a valid TN Driver License. This position also requires the ability walk considerable distances throughout the day in various weather conditions while navigating stairs, ramps and uneven terrain.

Police Department - Auxiliary
Do you have an interest in law enforcement and serving your community? If so, the Greeneville Police Department is accepting applications for our part-time Auxiliary Officer Program.
Requirements for the program are as follows:
Must be at least 21 years of age at time of application and have a HS Diploma/GED
Must not have any Felony convictions and no Misdemeanors that would be in contraindication with good moral character
Must complete an intense background check
Must complete a physical exam
Must complete a psychological exam
Must complete a WorkSteps assessment
If hired for a position, it is imperative that attendance at regular meetings/training sessions is met. Those days/times are as follows…
Mandatory monthly meetings that most commonly occur on the first Wednesday of the month from 6pm to 10pm.
At least one monthly weekend rotation shift is required – usually a Friday night from 7pm – 3am or a Saturday night from 7pm – 3am.
Mandatory community events (Christmas Parade, 4th of July, Greene County Fair, etc.).
For 8 weeks, required training sessions typically take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm – 10pm and Saturdays from 8am – 4pm
The Auxiliary Police will comply with P.O.S.T. rules and regulations, and all uniforms/gear will be provided by the Greeneville Police Department.

The Town of Greeneville Police Department has revamped their
hiring process and is now accepting applications year-round!
The Police Department consists of four patrol shifts that work 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights. Each 28-day cycle contains a 7-day break along with additional shorter-term days off. The Greeneville Police Department units consist of Patrol, School Resource Officers, Tactical Units, K-9 Units, Bomb Unit, Drug Enforcement Units, Criminal Investigative Units, Traffic Units, and Code Enforcement Units. There are also opportunities for off-duty work, as well.
Starting salary for a Police Officer Recruit is $47,326.86/yr & goes up to $52,674.96/yr after successful completion of Recruit requirements.
