Greeneville’s government is a Council-Manager form of government. The City Council consists of the Town Mayor and four Council Members. Two Council Members are elected from each of the Town’s two wards. The Mayor is elected from the Town at large.

The City Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Town government; supervising all employees, implementing Board decisions, and advising the Board of improvements for the Town.
