Marty Shelton was recognized for over 35 years of dedicated service to the Greeneville Fire Department at last night's Greeneville City Council meeting. He leaves a legacy through his leadership as Administrative Chief and training supervisor. Congratulations on your retirement! Enjoy your free time! 😉 We know this is just wishful thinking, since he is continuing as Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department's Chief.

The Greeneville FD has spent this week going over aircraft emergencies, airport familiarization tours, runway marking systems, and more. Angela Alley and her staff at the airport, along with the Highlands-II base crews, especially the pilot (Jennifer), spent the week showing the different types of general aviation and the helicopter to the shifts. Battery disconnects, fuel shutoffs, access panels, fuel farm specifics are just a few of the topics covered to be better prepared.
